Whirl Winds

Wow, what a fast and furious past several months.  I really do not have the time to blogg, but I find it fun and a way to write down different things that happens with our family, so I don't forget later.  And when I'm old and gray to laugh at!

I don't really know where to start.  First of all our family decided to take a break from sports for a season to just relax a bit and do things with our family.  Boy has it been nice.  No where to go except church during the week, so all is open to suggestions.  We cooked out, watched TV outside, went fishing, hiking, to the movies, out to eat, visits with friends.  All the stuff we don't have time to do when you have practice four nights a week.  The boys missed playing, but did not complain once.  I think they needed the break more than Mark and I.

The boys have done great this year in school.  Both had all A's again.  For Jayger this was a big deal for him being his first year in middle school.  Mark and I both tell him that it will get harder buddy, you will have to buckle down at some point.  Oh well... he'll learn.  Joben is doing great at Eastside preschool, and learning more everyday. 

Mark and the boys have been hunting.  Jayger and Jetson both killed their first deer with their Daddy.  I'm not much of one for hunting, but it is a great sport, and it is something about boys and their Daddy bonding over hunting.  It was sweet to see their excitment.  Getting to be big boys. :(

 





Really not a lot has been going on expect for the normal stuff.  Mark and a I decided that since this was a break for us we sould take advantage and have some us time.  We usually go on a trip just us once a year.  Of course we have our date nights, etc.  But these trips are really special.  It really helps us to concentrate on just us, not when we need to get back, or what the kids are doing.  Thank goodness for my parents and great babysitter so we can go.  This year we went to Maui.  I attended a conference in the mornings, and then after that it was on!  Oh the fun we had.  You know the feelings you have when you are dating?  Even though we just celebrated our 15th anniversary, it was great.  Here are a few pics and captions.

This beach was beyond beautiful!  The sun, the sand, the water... amazing.  Kaanapali Beach.  We sat and stared for hours on end.

This is Baby Beach.  Don't ask me why?  I just know I loved it, and I loved who I was with.

We hiked here at Iao Valley in Maui.  So beautiful, and peaceful. 

Mark tried his hand at surfing.  He's a pro.  Ha! No, he said it was really really hard, and for two min. of glory to ride the wave down.  Bucket list, check.

Our last night, dinner was so so good.  I have never eaten so much.  The fruit and fish in Maui is to die for.  We had a wonderful time.  Thankful for the time I get to spend with the love of my life, and thankful for those three little sweeties I got to come home to.


For the fall festival the boys were Ninja's.  Go figure.  They were totally in character.  I'll call on my way home to see if Mark could get them dressed.  He told me they had been dressed and ready since they got home! LOL!  So darn cute to see them all excited.  We carved some pumkins several days before and told them to stand by them and this is what we got!

Summertime

Update

Has it really been 4 months since my last post?  Man... I have really been slacking.  I don't know how I could have let this happen.  Not.  Let's just say I've been a little busy.  Jayger and Jetson finished up school well this year.  I am so very proud of my boys.  Jayger got all A's this year, and every year in elementary.  He has really worked hard.  Jetson got all A's as well, plus to top AR reader for the entire first grade.  He has worked hard as well.  Mark and I both try to instill a very strong commitment to education.  We both highly value it.  Is it hard, yes.  Do you like it, at times, no.  Will it help you, yes.  Is it all you need, no.  Can you make it without it, yes.  I want our boys to know that one day they will have a family of their own and may be the only one to work outside the home.  A little young?  Maybe.  But there is no better time.  My personal goal is to raise men who will be responsible, sweet, loving, kind, strong, god honoring, and neat.  Lofty I know.

And baseball....

Mark is coaching Jayger and Jetson's as he has done for the past oh four or five years.  The boys love it!  We have a great group of kids and parents.  Jetson's team got second place in the postseason tournament.  This was their first year for the pitching machine, a big step up from the t-ball stand!  Our team beat out several older teams to get second.  It was hot hot, but fun!  Jayger's team was undefeated during the regular season.  Tonight is their last game. Next year is a toss up, Joben wants to play.  Don't know if he can coach three teams!

We have tried to do a few things this summer that we don't have time to do when school is in.  Is that not the purpose of summer??  The boys and I love to swim with friends and eat snowcones on Fridays.  On the weekends we play, go to the lake, swim, fish, eat, and eat some more.  Mark is the best little cook.  So thankful!  I called him yesterday on the way home, and asked him if he would like to pick up some KFC. He was like, no I have a pork loin on the grill with all the fixings.  Ok... scratch KFC. I've never even bought a "pork loin." Whatever.  I was a little embaressed I suggested that! Ha! Did I mention building a fort.  Mark is trying to teach them his skills.  Whop woo!  They will know how to build a house by the time they are 16.  Please and thank you.

Mark and I went on a little trip over the weekend.  He took me to see 3 Doors Down, my all time favorite current band.  Yes I love classic rock, but these guys are not classic.  I love their music.  The closest tour city was Dallas in June.  Hot mama.  He endured it, for me. Bless him.  It was our anniversay trip.  Our anniversary is not until July 19th, so we celebrated a little early.  It was so much fun!

Baseball is over after today, thank goodness.  I have completed my first class in my doctorally program.  Hopefully I will pull a B out of it.  I've never read and written so much in my life.  And that is saying something becaue I read and write all the time!  Thankful to be able to do it.  Thankful to the Lord above for my life and all that is in it!

Snow and Valentines Day

I love Valentines Day and as all of you know it snowed the day before.  So... the boys have fun making a snow man, and staying home with Daddy.  The boys made their own boxes this year, without any of my help, and I think they turned out great!  When I got home Mark had made me three different types of chicken wings BBQ, original, and honey glazed.  It was really good.  He's such a sweetie!  We have enjoyed 18 Valentine Days together.  Man, all the stories over the years.  The very first V-Day we were together he bought me a gold and diamond heart ring.  I was in the 10th grade, what a scandle it was.  My Dad was a little bothered.  Did I mention we had been dating two weeks? 10th grade? 16?  Ha!  Oh... funny now.  :)

Times Flies When Your Having Fun!

Man!  Talk about busy!  We have had basketball practice four nights a week, church on Wed, two basketball games on Sat, church on Sun. = tired Mommy and Daddy!  Although we are busy we love every minute.  I love to watch my boys have fun.  Basketball is almost over and Baseball will begin.  I love Baseball, the time of year, being outside all the time, and watching Mark coach the boys.  Hopefull this summer it will wind down and we can just play on the lake.  Mark is finishing up our little "garage," ha! Hopefully we will have it finished by summer so we can stay up the there when we go.  We took a little trip at the end of the year to look at a boat and go to a little concert, away time before the new year.  I hope the boys love it.  I hope all our friends will as well!
